Since 1960 the Illawarra Radiology Group (IRG) has provided a comprehensive radiology service to referring medical practitioners, clinics and hospitals in the Illawarra region.
IRG has four imaging practices conveniently located throughout the Illawarra, offering world-class facilities and a complete range of testing. We use cutting edge technology and possess three Four-Slice Multislice CT scanners - offering the most advanced CT scanning in the Illawarra region.
IRG also operates a state of the art 1.5 Tesla GE MRI unit which is fully Medicare compliant. This is the only rebatable MRI service in the Illawarra. We also have contemporary ultrasound machines with high frequency probes for musculoskeletal imaging and vascular ultrasound. (See below for more information on the services provided.)
Our radiologists are specialists who are fully accredited and participate in the RANZCR continuing medical education scheme. The majority of non-routine examinations are guided by one of our radiologists, who will individually tailor procedures to provide the highest quality result possible. They possess expertise in a broad range of imaging applications and are always happy to speak to referring doctors to give advice or to communicate urgent results.
IRG employs specially trained radiographers who bring a wealth of experience to the practice. This experience and knowledge means that every procedure undertaken is attended to with proficiency, and the uptmost care and consideration for the individual.
Our dedicated support staff are readily available to help with appointments, procedure information, and to answer any questions you might have.
IRG provides an extensive courier service in the Illawarra region, facilitating timely report delivery, and ensuring results are at hand in time for follow-up consultations.
